What is Network Spinal Analysis?
NSA is an evidence based approach to wellness. This approach, developed by Dr. Donald Epstein, utilizes very specific analysis and adjusting methods. The system incorporates low force adjustments applied at specific points along the spine, as well as very specific positioning of the patient. The name "Network" was originally used as the system incorporates strategies from a network of different chiropractic techniques. The analysis allows the practitioner to know precisely which area and what type of force to apply at precisely the correct time. Using this strategy the practitioner is able to assist the neurological system to develop new strategies to:
- Dissipate tension from the spine, nerves and muscles
- Decrease pain and the "defensive posturing" created from past trauma
- Create a more self-correcting, self-reliant nervous system/spine.
- Adapt to stress better
- Improves posture and increase function (such as range of motion)
- Experience greater well being
Network Spinal Analysis is exclusively practiced by doctors of chiropractic and requires additional, extensive post-doctoral training.
The practice of Chiropractic is based on one core concept - all signals from the brain to the other cells in the body must be clear for the body to function optimally. Mental stresses, physical traumas and other challenges tend to obscure these signals, resulting in the gradual erosion of our body’s functioning. When our system is not flexible enough to accommodate the various stresses we encounter, we experience overload. This produces a physiological reaction we commonly call a subluxation.
